Vaccine clinic gave more than 30 shots; Week 3 Student Vax Incentive winners announced

A total of 28 students and 8 employees visited the on-campus Vaccination Clinic on Mar. 23 to receive a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccination or to get a booster shot.

• Technicians from Walgreen’s facilitated the clinic.
• All participants received a $50 gift card.

 For Week 3 of the Spring Student Vaccination Incentive Program, the winners of the $250 prize drawing are:

Paige Jones (Practical Nursing Certificate – photo at left), who said she got the COVID-19 vaccination because it was required for work.

Jamie Scott (Medical Laboratory Technology), who said, “I’m vaccinated to protect myself and everyone around me.”

Students who received $100 prizes in the Mar. 16 drawing included:

• Rodney Arnold – Marketing Management – “I got vaccinated so I won’t catch COVID-19.”
• Maxwell Barden – Computer Software Development – “I’m vaccinated to be healthy and safe.”
• Eden Berhanu – Computer Network Administration – Computer Support Major – “I’m vaccinated!”
• Lauren Frederick – Sustainable Horticulture – “I’m vaccinated for my family members with comorbidities.”
• Christina Gambrel – Diagnostic Medical Sonography – “I got vaccinated to keep everybody that I come in contact with safe.”
• Carolina Hotz – Business Management – “I got the vaccine to prevent myself and those around me from getting sick.”
  
• Kaylie Nelson (left) – Medical Assisting – “I’m vaccinated for my health, to protect my friends and family, and for my externship this summer.”
• Ama Osai – Nursing – “I’m vaccinated to keep myself and people around me safe.”
  
• Zhirong Wu (right) – Computer Software Development – I’m vaccinated because I want to protect myself and people around me.”

• Students can fill out an eForm to enter the weekly prize drawing if they received a COVID-19 vaccine first dose or second dose after Dec. 14, 2021, or received a COVID booster shot anytime.
   
• Filling out the eForm means students are eligible to receive a $25 gift card, and they are immediately entered in the drawing for weekly prizes.
   
• Each Wednesday during Spring Semester 2 weekly prizes of $250 and 10 weekly prizes of $100 are awarded to students entered in the drawing.
   
• A grand prize drawing for $5,000 will take place Apr. 27.
