Last chance for employee “school pictures” is Mar. 22

The final opportunity for CState employees to get a professional photo at no cost is Tuesday, March 22.

Photos will be taken in Main 342 (Conference Center) from 11:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Drop in when your schedule permits, but be “photo ready” when you arrive.

  • All full-time and part-time/adjunct College employees may participate.

  • “Team photos” will be taken also, if requested (for example, Divisional office front line staff, Program or department faculty, Grounds Crew, etc.)

  • Your photo will be stored in the College’s Marketing database for future use, and you can use your photo in your LinkedIn profile, for professional conferences, or for other professional communications that require a photo.

Things to know before you go to the photo shoot:

  • Your photo will be taken in a “casual” pose against a white background, and will be more than just your head and shoulders. According to Marketing Manager Jackie Norton, popular “casual business” poses you might want to practice include:
    • Both hands or one hand on hip(s)
    • One hand in pants pocket
    • Lean forward on one leg OR put most of your weight on your back leg (as seen on the red carpet)
    • Arms crossed
    • Other poses that let your personality come through
  • You don’t have to wear “business formal” attire, and it’s OK to wear Cincinnati State branded apparel, or a uniform associated with your program or position.

  • If you want to bring a prop that reflects your program or position, please do! (Examples: hard hat; wrench; mixing spoon; book; barbell; something you extruded, welded, or otherwise concocted; hand trowel; your coffee mug that says you’re the World’s Best at whatever it is you do.)

  • For your clothing choices, solid colors in mid-toned or dark shades are recommended. Avoid tweed, plaid, pinstripes, and other complex or bold patterns that may detract from the image. (A dark jacket with a shirt/blouse in a complementary color is a good choice; a patterned tie is acceptable.)

  • Long sleeves or three-quarter-length sleeves are recommended.

  • Hair should be neat and and can be styled if you choose. However, hair and make-up (if used) should be “done,” but not overdone. You should strive to look put-together, but still natural.

  • Facial hair (like stubble, if that’s your style) will appear in the photo.

  • If you wear jewelry that will appear in the photo, simple pieces that accent your features are recommended.
