CState Mask Policy is Revised

On Mar. 1, Cincinnati State students and employees received an email message from Provost Robbin Hoopes with new information regarding College mask policies.

Effective March 1, 2022, the mask requirement is limited to classrooms and closed spaces.

  • Masks are recommended, but not required, in hallways and common areas (parking garages, cafeteria, Bakery Hill, etc.).

  • Masks are still required in classrooms, labs, Library, tutoring centers, offices, and other closed spaces on campus.

Effective March 14, 2022, the mask requirement will be lifted, if the Risk Level locally does not increase.

  • The College’s mask policies take into account the recently-revised guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as well as the risk level of the counties in the College’s service area.

  • Provided that the CDC assessment of community risk level does not increase to “high,” starting on March 14 masks will be recommended, but will not be required, on Cincinnati State campuses– except in some skills-based labs where students are practicing lab techniques.

  • Employees with questions about the changes to mask policies should contact their Dean or Manager.

Other COVID protocols will remain in effect throughout the semester or until further notice, including the protocols for what to do if you test positive or are exposed to COVID.

Provost Hoopes’ message noted that some may choose to continue to wear a mask when they are on campus. All members of the College community are asked to support and respect individuals who choose to wear masks.

  • Masks (including KN95 masks) are available if needed and/or desired from various locations on Clifton Campus and on all other campuses.

Also, members of the College community who are are not vaccinated or have not obtained related vaccine boosters are urged to do so.

  • A vaccination clinic open to students and employees (adminstered by Walgreen’s) will be offered on Clifton Campus later this month.

  • More information will be provided on how to sign up for the clinic and qualify to receive a $25 gift card and be entered in special prize drawings during the clinic.

  • Students are encouraged to enter the Student Vaccination Incentive Program for Spring.
