Volunteers needed for HS Academic League tournament on Feb. 26 following successful Feb. 12 tourney
On Saturday, Feb. 12, Cincinnati State hosted 14 teams from area high schools for the annual Cincinnati State Academic League Tournament— continuing the College’s long-standing service as the site for academic “quiz bowl” competitions among area schools.
The team from Madeira High School won the tournament (see the team above completing one of the competition puzzles, and below celebrating along with their coaches).
Madeira bested Indian Hill in the final match of the day. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy finished third and St. Xavier was fourth.
The Greater Cincinnati Academic League (GCAL) Winter Tournament will take place at CState on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Volunteer “quiz masters” are still needed to help make the day a success for the visiting high school students and their teachers.
- Faculty and staff members are encouraged to assist– and if you want to make it a family experience, children ages 13 and older can be valuable helpers for this event.
- Breakfast and training will be provided all volunteers.
