On-campus vaccines & flu shots for students & employees on Nov. 4; Student Vax Incentive announces Week 4 winners

An on-campus COVID-19 vaccination and flu shot clinic, facilitated by Walgreen’s and free for Cincinnati State students and employees, is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4, on Clifton Campus.

• The clinic will be in Main 180 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
   
• The on-campus clinic will offer flu shots and COVID-19 vaccinations (Pfizer vaccine) including first dose, second dose, and booster shots for those eligible.
   
• Participants should bring your insurance card (if applicable) and if you’re seeking a COVID-19 vaccination second dose or booster shot, bring your vaccination card.

 Student Vaccination Incentive Program – Week 4

Taylor is a student in the LPN-to-RN Nursing (NURP) program, who said, “I got my vaccine to protect my family and the patients I care for. I feel very blessed that the vaccine was available to me and I encourage everyone to do their part if they are able to.”

Denis Kalala (right), a Pre-Engineering student and winner of a $100 prize in the Week 4 drawing, said he decided to get vaccinated “for the safety of others, especially my loved ones. I live with my grandparents and COVID has shown to be most severe to that age group. Out of consideration to them is why I would urge others to get the vaccine.”

Kyndra Coleman (left), another $100 winner in Week 4, and a Nursing student, said, “I chose to get the vaccine because my husband of 15 years has an autoimmune disease. Keeping him and our children safe is my number one priority.”

As of Oct. 27, more than 875 fully-vaccinated Fall Semester students have entered the Incentive Program, 33 students have reported receiving their initial dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 1 student who reported getting the initial vaccine also received a second $25 gift card after getting a second dose.

The first prize winners in the Employee Vaccination Incentive Program will be announced this week.
