Celebrate Constitution Day virtually on Sep. 16

Sep 15, 2021

On Thursday, Sep. 16, Cincinnati State will celebrate Constitution Day.

All members of the College community (especially students) are invited to participate in a virtual Consitituion Day Trivia contest, taking place from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Constitution Day– also known as Citizenship Day– is celebrated on September 17 each year to commemorate the day in 1787 that delegates to the first U.S. Constitutional Convention (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, and more than 30 other “founding fathers”) signed the document that established the U.S. national government.

In 2004, the U.S. Congress designated Sep. 17 as Constitution Day, with requirements for public schools and governmental offices to provide educational programs to promote better understanding of the Constitution and citizenship (both native-born and naturalized).
