New CTL Blackboard site provides Fall Semester resources

Aug 20, 2021

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has launched a new Blackboard site with resources for Cincinnati State faculty members.

The Blackboard site titled “The Center for Teaching and Learning” should be viewable in the list of Blackboard courses for all Fall Semester instructors.

Resources available now, in the site section “Fall 2021,” address health and safety concerns and classroom management issues for in-person classes, and provide sample syllabus language related to classroom safety protocols and use of the Proctorio online test proctoring tool.

  • These materials can assist faculty members as you develop your syllabi, and prepare to build a classroom community and manage classroom issues as we start Fall Semester with pandemic protocols in place.

  • In addition to resources available for download, faculty members can schedule an individual appointment with CTL Director Juliee Johns, or one of the CLT Facilitators, for help with concerns.

In the near future, the CTL Blackboard site will add other resources and opportunities for support. These resources will include:

  • Individual CTL office hours, for faculty support, problem-solving, and innovation planning

  • The Higher Learning Commission Institute
    • This 6-module online series will help all faculty members understand your role in ensuring that Cincinnati State meets the accrediting expectations of the Higher Learning Commission, and may be especially useful for tenure-track faculty members.
  • Data-Driven Decision Consulting
    • Starting Sep. 20, Program and Department Chairs and other interested faculty members can schedule appointments with the CTL for individual support with data analysis, including using the College’s Tableau data, as part of Annual Self Study reporting, course assessment activities, and/or developing proposals for grants.
  • Post-Traumatic Growth Webinar
    • Post-Traumatic Growth focuses on positive changes that can result from challenging life circumstances. In this self-paced webinar, participants will gain information to help reflect on the past year, appreciate the adjustments made during times of crises, and make decisions about areas of growth to work on for the future.
