Suppport the Great Parks at Sep. 25 seed-harvesting event
The Celebrating Community Committee invites all members of the Cincinnati State community to join another family-friendly and COVID-safe outdoor activity on Saturday, Sep. 25, to show our support for the Great Parks of Hamilton County.
CState volunteers will gather at Shaker Trace Nursery in Harrison, from 9 a.m. to noon, to assist the Great Parks staff with harvesting seeds from various plants for the next planting season.
- The Nursery, located at 8749 New Haven Road, Harrison, OH 45030, is part of Miami Whitewater Forest.
- The Shaker Trace Nursery was established in 1992 to harvest and store native prairie and wetland seeds for habitat restoration projects. Now, nursery staff and volunteers work with more than 200 species of native plants.
Students, faculty, and staff members (and families of CState students and employees) are welcome to register and join the group.
Space is limited, so plan to sign up before the deadline of Monday, Sep. 20.

Miline Donlin, who is coordinating this CCC activity, said, “The Shaker Trace Nursery outing is going to be a great way to connect with one another and with nature, and represent the College in our community– so be sure to wear your Cincinnati State gear!”
Those who attend will receive a certificate of participation.
