Celebrate Cinti Red Stockings at printing museum on July 1
Retired faculty member Gary Walton, the Director of the Cincinnati Type & Print Museum, invites Cincinnati State students and employees to attend a celebration of the 152nd anniversary of the Cincinnati Red Stockings baseball team on Thursday, July 1, at the museum (2307 West 8th Street, Cincinnati, 45204).
During the event (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) you can:
- meet members of the 1919 Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and members of the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings Vintage Base Ball Team.
- print your own replica copy of an 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings game ticket.
- talk to the authors of the book Baseball Revolutionaries: How the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings Rocked the Country and Made Baseball Famous— Greg Rhodes, John Erardi, and Greg Gajus.
- The book tells the complete story of the team that “paved the way for the major league baseball of today” and was a finalist for the 2019 CASEY Award for Best Baseball Book of the Year.
