Cincinnati State welcomes new Trustee Catherine Evans
Governor Mike DeWine has appointed Catherine L. Evans to the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees for a term beginning April 9, 2021, and ending Aug. 31, 2026.
Evans is an attorney, shareholder, and director with the Millikin & Fitton Law Firm in West Chester, Ohio. Her law practice focuses on representing small to mid-size businesses, business owners, institutional and non-profit clients, and individuals.
She also served multiple terms as treasurer or president for the firm.
“We are delighted to have someone with Catherine’s experience and commitment to advancing education as a fellow trustee for Cincinnati State,” said George Vincent, chair of the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees.
Evans is a life long resident of Middletown. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law, following which she joined Millikin & Fitton in 1998.
“Education is the bridge for most people to move themselves from one place to another; certainly it was for me,” Evans said.
“I see so much potential with Cincinnati State– it has a unique ability to meet people where they are,” she added.
President Monica Posey said, “This is an exciting time for Cincinnati State, and we are honored to have another member join the board from our Butler County service area.”
Evans also currently serves on the board of the Butler County United Way (where she is a former chair), the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, and the Middletown Community Foundation.
In addition, throughout her career she has served as a volunteer or on the board for a number of other regional non-profit, philanthropic, and educational organizations.
“I feel strongly that it is an obligation to give back to the community,” she said. “We all do at our firm, and have built it into our business model.”
Evans and her husband Jay have two daughters.
