Welcome new faculty and staff members in EIT
In addition to new colleagues introduced in a previous edition of Daily News, the Engineering and Information Technologies Division has welcomed two tenure-track faculty co-op coordinators and two new staff members during Spring Semester.
Hannah Held is the new Co-op Coordinator for students in Audio/Video Production, Computer Network Engineering Technology, Graphic Design, Graphic Imaging Technology, and Web & Multimedia Design.
Hannah started working at CState while earning her Associate of Arts degree, when she was a co-op student assigned to assist the co-op coordinators in Humanities & Sciences.
Hannah says her initial experience helped her “find a passion for helping students achieve their professional goals.”
She added, “I’m eager to help hardworking students and innovative companies connect and achieve greatness!”
Hannah completed a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University and also gained professional experience in marketing and office management in the engineering industry, and as a recruiter in the IT industry.
Hannah’s fiancé, TJ, is a chemist at KAO in Cincinnati, and Hannah’s 9 year old son is in the third grade in a Spanish Immersion Program.
Her hobbies include yoga, reading, writing, cooking, traveling, music and film, plus sports and video games.
Doug Woodruff is now a full-time Co-op Coordinator for Civil Engineering Technologies, Chemical and Environmental Engineering Technologies, and Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technologies, after serving as a part-time co-op coordinator in EIT for six years.
Prior to joining CState, Doug worked in the manufacturing field for about 30 years.
Doug earned a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from “The” Ohio State University and says he is a diehard Buckeye football fan.
He also has an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Doug says he “loves sports of all sorts,” and, when time permits, he also enjoys taking classes at the College. He says, “I like to to add to or refresh my own knowledge and skills, and taking classes helps me better understand what my co-op students are learning and experiencing.”
Jonathan Wagner is a new Senior Lab Technician in EIT, returning to the EIT Lab Center where he initially worked as a co-op student while he earned two associate’s degrees: Computer Support & Administration and Electronic Systems Engineering Technology.
Jonathan will take over as head of the EIT Lab Center when Wayne Herbers retires this summer.
After graduating from CState, Jonathan worked in various positions at Pomeroy, first as a Desk-side Support Technician at P&G’s Fabric and Home Care Innovation Center in St. Bernard, where he helped office and chemical plant employees with technical issues. Later, he worked at Pomeroy headquarters in Hebron, KY, as a Repair Technician.
Jonathan says, “I have a passion for Cincinnati State because the College was a turning point in my life, for the better. I want to see others start on a career path toward something they love doing, as I was able to do because of the College.”
Jonathan’s hobbies include video games, Magic the Gathering, and managing audio/video equipment and recordings for his church.
John Thomas (seen here fishing with his niece and showing off his “pandemic summer beard”) is the new Clerical Assistant at the Cincinnati State West Campus in Harrison.
John started at CState working in Distribution (so you might remember him from your visits to the Mail Room). He also earned an associate’s degree in Business Management.
He worked at Walgreens for 15 years but decided to “flip-the-script on my career for a spell” and became an over-the-road truck driver.
John’s hobbies include the outdoors, fishing, traveling, the History Channel, and “supporting our hometown sports teams.”
He says, “I’ve always been interested in airplanes, and now I get to help everyone who keeps the planes in the air!”
