Welcome, new faculty member Toni Durban
Antoinette “Toni” Durban, a 2007 graduate of Cincinnati State, returned to the College in December 2020 as a full-time instructor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Technology program (OTA).
Following graduation from CState, Toni’s career focus was rehabilitation for older adults, including neurological dysfunction.
She worked in several settings such as long term acute care and skilled nursing facilities. She also managed rehabilitation departments in three locations.
Toni said her favorite assignment was six years spent working at Drake Center.
“I loved it because I was exposed to many different diagnoses and disabilities and was able to work with many skilled therapists, ” Toni said.
“I also worked closely with physicians and many specialists, taking all that I could from them to build my skills and knowledge.”
Toni joined the College’s OTA program as an adjunct in 2017, and has taught several OTA courses. She especially enjoys leading the physical disfunction skills lab, “where I can give students real-life learning with my stories from the clinic,” Toni said.
Toni will receive her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences this month from the University of New Hampshire.
Toni and her husband (and “high school sweetheart”) have three sons: Elliott, age 11; Wesley, age 10; and Oliver, age 6. The family lives on the West Side and they are active in the boys’ school, their parish, and community organizations.
Toni said she is excited about taking on her new role and “becoming part of the Cincinnati State family.”
