Webinar on Oct. 20 offers advice on leading online discussions

Many organizations are continuing to offer programs that may be of interest to Cincinnati State faculty and other members of the College community.

Harmonize/42Lines, a company that develops apps to assist higher education faculty, is offering a free webinar titled “Best Practices for Online Discussions” on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at noon (Eastern time)

Learning goals of the webinar include:

  • understanding critical elements that will help develop meaningful discussions with students regardless of their style, preference, or ability
  • learning how substantive feedback contributes to student success and retention

The webinar leader, Dr. Rhonda Blackburn, is the President of the U.S. Distance Learning Association, former Associate Provost of Educational Enhancement at the University of Texas, and author of Best Practice Guide for Online Discussions (distributed by Harmonize/42Lines).
