Faculty: Watch for class roster changes this week
Changes to class rosters during the first week of Fall Semester may be more frequent than usual, because of two factors:
- From Monday, Aug. 24, to Saturday, Aug. 29, students may register in MyServices for a class that has open spaces, without an instructor’s signature or other special permission.
- The change in first-week registration procedures was implemented to provide additional help for students in “staying on track” despite disruptions caused by the current environment.
- The “de-enrollment” process will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
- De-enrollment is the process implemented by the Registrar’s Office that removes students from Fall courses if they did not earn a passing grade in a Summer course that was a prerequisite to the Fall course.
- The late de-enrollment is the result of changes to the 2019-20 academic calendar that “pushed back” the end date for 15-week Summer semester classes. Summer final grades will be available to students on Aug. 26.
Faculty members with questions about the status of their class roster should check with their division dean.
