Wear a (Cincinnati State) mask
Starting this week, every Cincinnati State employee will be able to cover your face with a College-branded mask-- an ideal accessory when on campus, or when out and about in other vicinities where mask requirements are in effect.
VP of Workforce Development Amy Waldbillig, who also supervises marketing and enrollment activities, said every full-time employee will receive two masks, and each part-time employees will get one mask.
The masks are being distributed this week to campus offices.
"We wanted to provide our employees with face coverings to help keep everyone safe, and at the same time provide a mask that looks professional and helps promote the College," Waldbillig said.
Jason Caudill, program chair for Graphic Design, served as design consultant for the project.
Jason said, "The Marketing Team wanted a design that would be appealing to all, so those wearing the mask would feel safe, and also feel proud of their college."
"Also, we wanted the logo to be visible from a distance when the wearer is representing the College."
In addition to masks, the College's branded face coverings will include a supply of gaiters-- a neck covering that can be pulled up to protect the nose and mouth.
The CState gaiters are green with a repeated College logo in white.
The gaiters are expected to be delivered in late July, and then will be distributed to 2020 graduates, College employees, and others.
CARES Act emergency funds distributed to over 1400 students
As of July 2, 2020, the Cincinnati State Office of Financial Aid has disbursed $677,800 in Emergency Financial Aid Grants funded by the CARES Act.
A total of 1,458 students received the grants.
The amount each student received depended on their enrollment status in Spring or Summer Semester 2020.
- Full-time students can receive emergency grants up to $700 and part-time students can receive grants up to $300.
- Students enrolled in Spring or Summer classes were notified about the availability of these funds on May 18, via email from the Financial Aid office.

Cincinnati State received a total of $2,114,058 in CARES Act funding for students on Apr. 22, 2020.
The Office of Financial Aid estimates that about 5700 students may be eligible to receive the funding.
The College is required to report on distribution of CARES Act Emergency Grants every 45 days.

CCP Virtual Orientation sessons scheduled for July & August
Cincinnati State's College Credit Plus (CCP) program will offer several virtual orientation sessions in July and August for high school students who are new to CCP.
Each session is 90 minutes, and students must register in advance at https://www.cincinnatistate.edu/ccp-orientation-advising.
Orientation will be offered:
- Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m.
- Monday, July 20 at 10 a.m.
- Thursday, July 30 at 1 p.m.
- Monday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 13 at 1 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m.
