Career Center webinars help with "Moving Beyond Undecided"

Starting Wednesday, May 20, the Cincinnati State Career Center is hosting a bi-weekly webinar to help undecided students select an academic program that can lead to a career.

The "Moving Beyond Undecided" sessions will help students use career exploration processes and tools to answer questions like:

• How do I figure out my major or program of study?
• What if I don't know what kind of career I want?
• What options does Cincinnati State have for an undecided student?

Sessions will be offered every other Wednesday, from 6 to 6:30 p.m., on these days:

• May 20
• June 3 and June 17
• July 1, July 15, and July 29
• August 12

CState Environmental students have new bachelor's pathway at NKU

A new "CState2NKU" articulation agreement has been finalized for Cincinnati State Environmental Engineering Technology graduates who want to earn a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science at Northern Kentucky University.

NKU will promote the new transfer pathway on their website for a Fall 2020 start.

The new agreement means Cincinnati State students who earn an associate's degree in Environmental Engineering Technology (or the Stormwater or Wastewater major) can transfer seamlessly to NKU to earn a BA or BS in Environmental Science.

Environmental Engineering Technology program chair Ann Gunkel said faculty and staff members at both institutions worked to develop this addition to the "CState2NKU" pathways.

Ann said a goal of the partnership is to encourage students who might not be thinking about college to start at Cincinnati State, and then complete a baccalaureate degree at NKU after earning their associate's degree.

ArtsWave campaign ends May 22

Cincinnati State employees who are considering a contribution to ArtsWave this year are reminded that the deadline is Friday, May 22.

President Monica Posey, who serves as a Trustee of ArtsWave, said, "Now, more than ever, the Cincinnati region’s arts organizations are in need of our support."

ArtsWave is taking steps to assist large and small arts organizations affected by the pandemic.
